The Arkansas Department of Education released the simulated 2023-24 school letter grades following the updated ATLAS accountability measures. However, with House Bill 1598 of the latest legislative session, these ratings are only to be used for informational, learning, and planning purposes. We are overjoyed to see the strong impact that our team has had in moving our schools forward.
We are excited to learn the next official letter grade from the Spring 2025 testing this summer!
Under the new accountability system, the Prairie Grove School District received “simulated” school ratings for the 2023-2024 school year last Friday. House Bill 1598 of the 2025 legislative session, ADE must 'hold harmless 'Public-School Ratings for the 2023-2024 school year. This means that the results listed below will not be publicized this year. In terms of letter grades, all campuses received a letter grade of “C” for the 2022-2023 ratings. As a district, we had tremendous growth regarding the overall campus grade.
The new system measures nine cells in total (See Table 1, Indicators & Measures Here). However, due to the elementary configuration, students' performance was only measured in five of the nine cells, and not all students' growth categories were factored into the data. For the 2024-2025 school year, we are excited to announce that the elementary campus will be measured in all nine cells, unlocking its full potential for growth and improvement.
Moving a letter grade over one calendar year is a tremendous accomplishment, and we had two campuses move from a grade “C” to a “B” overall. This progress is particularly significant considering the challenges in the new accountability system. I want to acknowledge our school community's hard work and dedication in overcoming these challenges. Also, we had a campus move to an overall grade of an A, and that is nothing short of phenomenal. Congratulations to the Junior High staff for this accomplishment.
